It has now been over 18 months that the Golden Youth Program (GYP) was established in Bonnyrigg Mosque. I am now pleased to announce that our next phase with our website is now complete. As the program grows and the attendance levels increase I just wanted to reiterate the Vision of the Youth Team. The Vision of the Youth Team is pretty simple, not only as a team but a as a strong community we want to cater for social, religious and youth in the Islamic and broader community in accordance with the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah. The Youth Team and Bonnyrigg Mosque's aim is to implement regular activities for the youth and provide beneficial services to the community. Over the last 18 months the Team have designed and implemented a program which not only has made a reputation of having great presenters from the Islamic world but also the likes of University lecturers , Motivational Speakers and special guests which has truly had a major impact in our growth in such a short time.

I would like to point out that every social gathering we have had over this time has been a great success. From the likes of Picnics, Dinners, to Ice skating, bowling, sports and other recreational activities all in all have been great fun, many people cant wait for the next activity.

In a world with much evil and bad distractions unity amongst our community is vital. taking this into consideration the programs and gatherings have much appealed and attracted many youth to the Mosque and the activities. I believe that the programs that are offered within the programs assist youngsters develop physically, mentally, socially and also simultaneously develop knowledge on our beautiful faith Islam.

At the end of the day we may of mad mistakes in our lives, but remember Allah is forgiving and it is up to you to accept that. We have had many youth develop the correct knowledge in regards to Islam with our ongoing interactions. We have also been lucky enough to have presenters outline other religions also which I believe has strengthened many of our beliefs in Islam.

The Golden Youth program gather every Friday night at 7:30pm at Bonnyrigg Mosque (Bibbys Pl, Bonnyrigg off Bonnyrigg Ave). We cater for both Males and Females whom are youth. From Monday to Thursday religious and Quran classes are available for students beginning from toddlers to adults. A Sunday gathering is also available for a mixed audience which is question answered based and also history of Islam, and the Ottoman empire is also available (Dr Labban, Dr Bas).

I would sincerely like to Thank the Youth Team and all that are involved with making this program what it is today. The administration, organising, teaching etc is done on a voluntary basis may Allah reward you for your efforts.
